Prostaglandin FP receptor agonist
- Increases uveoscleral outflow — first-line for glaucoma
- Iris darkening and eyelash growth
Drugs with this mechanism (3)
- Carboprost — Prostaglandin uterotonic for postpartum hemorrhage; bronchospasm makes asthma a major contraindication.
- Latanoprost free acid — Active latanoprost metabolite; prostaglandin FP-receptor activation increases uveoscleral outflow and lowers intraocular pressure.
- Travoprost — Prostaglandin analogue for glaucoma; lash growth and iris darkening as with latanoprost.
