Buspirone is converted to 1-PP by CYP3A4.

- 1-PP — Buspirone metabolite; alpha-2 antagonism that adds noradrenergic activation the parent does not have.
Anything that inhibits or induces CYP3A4 shifts the balance between Buspirone and 1-PP.
