- Implicated in SSRI sexual dysfunction (also 5-HT2A)
- Decreased locomotor activity in animal models
- May ↑ prolactin

- Fenfluramine — Serotonin releaser once in "fen-phen"; now for Dravet seizures, valvulopathy risk.
- Lorcaserin — 5-HT2C agonist weight-loss drug withdrawn for a cancer signal.
- mCPP — Trazodone and nefazodone metabolite; a 5-HT2C agonist that causes anxiety and dysphoria, and accumulates when CYP2D6 is inhibited.
- Serotonin — Endogenous monoamine neurotransmitter (5-HT).
