What it isThe major nitro-reduced metabolite of clonazepam, with little clinical activity of its own.

Why it mattersIt matters in the laboratory: clonazepam itself is fleeting in urine, so 7-aminoclonazepam is what confirmatory testing actually finds.

What it changesA screen that misses it (many immunoassays do) can falsely suggest nonadherence.
