Why it mattersIt is the cofactor for transaminases, decarboxylases and delta-aminolevulinic acid synthase, which is why B6 deficiency causes sideroblastic anemia and seizures.

What it changesIsoniazid, hydralazine and cycloserine deplete it, which is why pyridoxine is co-prescribed with them.
