Fluoxetine is converted to Norfluoxetine by CYP2D6.

- Norfluoxetine — Fluoxetine's long-lived active metabolite — the reason fluoxetine needs weeks of washout before an MAOI.
Anything that inhibits or induces CYP2D6 shifts the balance between Fluoxetine and Norfluoxetine.
