- Fenofibrate — PPAR-alpha fibrate; mainly lowers triglycerides.
- Gemfibrozil — Fibrate for severe hypertriglyceridemia; the wrong fibrate to combine with a statin.
- Icosapent ethyl — Purified EPA omega-3 that lowers triglycerides and cardiovascular events.
- Omega-3 fatty acids — Mixed EPA/DHA lowers triglycerides but can raise LDL; OTC products are not equivalent.
