Late Na current blocker
Late sodium current blocker
- Blocks the persistent late sodium current
Drugs with this mechanism (6)
- Cenobamate — Newer sodium-channel anticonvulsant; slow titration for DRESS risk.
- Eslicarbazepine — Once-daily sodium-channel anticonvulsant related to oxcarbazepine.
- Lacosamide — Slow-inactivation sodium-channel anticonvulsant; dizziness and PR prolongation matter.
- Lacosamide ER — Once-daily lacosamide for focal seizures; enhances slow sodium-channel inactivation and can prolong the PR interval.
- Ranolazine — Late-sodium-current blocker for chronic angina; no heart-rate or BP effect.
- Riluzole — Glutamate modulator that modestly prolongs survival in ALS.
